Photo Artworks:

Been there, taken the photos and wonder what to do with them? Are they all now sitting there on your computer, gradually building up to several thousand images and gigabytes of precious disc space?

Well, what with software such as Corel's Paint Shop Pro X2, Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, Artrage, Instant Photo Artist, PhotoArtMaster all costing less than £100 and some even being free, why worry if Adobe's Photoshop CS2 is just '2' expensive for you. It might be good for professionals but have you got the time to learn all the long hand techniques of creating an artistic masterpiece, when all you may need to do is push a few buttons on some of the very good but simpler programs mentioned above?

You may well see or hear people saying that only the best is good enough, but perhaps the best is within you and not the software. Just like a camera, the best equipment does not make the best photographer - there is much more beyond that is entirely within the control of the photographer, such as compostion and layout, subject matter, lighting, and so on. Surely it is better to take a good, well composed photograph, and then use some free or cheap software to create a few artistic masterpieces of your work, than it is to leave them sitting deep within your computer.

Over the coming months, I hope to add more detail to the images on this page to highlight the programs used. Some will be free and the most expensive will be Corel Photo Shop Pro X2 which you can buy for about £50!!

A new set of images are being prepared which take advantage of some of the latest easy techniques to create photo artworks, and these will be added to this page in the near future.
